A family-run breakfast and lunch restaurant near the village, serving all-day breakfast and locally roasted coffee from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

After the outlets: Diana's Baths, Echo Lake, or the Kancamagus.

Diana's Baths fits dry weather and a short forest walk. Echo Lake and Cathedral Ledge suit a picnic and overlook when park and auto-road access allow. The Kancamagus is the longer scenic-drive choice.

Return to the room before dinner.

Unload purchases, change after the trail or lake, and leave enough time to reach the reserved table.

Reserve Vito Marcello's when the trip includes its open days.

The Italian bistro opens Wednesday through Sunday and strongly recommends reservations; choose a current alternative on other days.
